MIS modernization with the Canadian Digital Adoption Program (CDAP)

Do you run a Canadian label-converting business with a custom home-grown system, a collection of spreadsheets, or an outdated platform that is no longer supported? A new grant program through the Canadian government, the Canadian Digital Adoption Program (CDAP), might offer you the opportunity to modernize your business systems.

The MIS/ERP Runs the Business; the Employees Run the System

We believe that the employee user experience is still the vital component to enabling the Print MIS/ERP to run the business and the employees to run the system. When Print MIS/ERP systems are difficult to use or make little sense to the employees who are the daily end users, adoption is low and workarounds are high.

The Canadian Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) is a grant and loan program offered through the Canadian government that aims to help Canadian businesses modernize their businesses through digital platforms and new technologies.

CDAP offers two grants, up to $15,000, that help businesses implement new technologies:

  1. Boost Your Business Technology
  2. Grow Your Business Online

Boost Your Business Technology

According to CDAP, the Boost Your Business Technology grant gives you the following:

  • up to $15,000 to develop a Digital Adoption Plan
  • up to $100,000 in 0% interest loan from the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) to implement your plan
  • up to $7,300 to hire a skilled youth to implement the technologies that can propel your business forward

Grow Your Business Online

The Grow Your Business Online grant offers the following:

  • up to $2,400 to setup e-commerce
  • access to a network of more than 11,000 e-commerce advisors

Qualifications for CDAP

Here are the program’s business qualifications for CDAP, according to CDAP’s website:

  • is Canadian-owned
  • is a sole proprietor or a business incorporated under the laws of Canada or a province or territory
  • is a for-profit
  • has 1 to 499 employees
  • has had at least $500,000 in annual revenue (but no more than $100 million in 1 of the previous 3 tax years)

MIS modernization with CDAP

Canadian label converters interested in upgrading their operations to an MIS like Label Traxx, or enhancing their Label Traxx configuration with software like Siteline or Batched for Label Traxx, should consider CDAP as an opportunity.

The process includes working with consultancy to create a plan (4-8 week process) that outlines the tech transition and what the company plans to do with the grant, identifying 3 different options — this could include Label Traxx, Siteline, or Batched.

After registering and building a plan, you will submit this and wait for approval to continue the application process.

How to apply to CDAP

Start the registration process at the Canada Digital Adoption Program’s website.

Label Traxx has a wealth of experience in transitioning label converters from their homegrown solutions, as well as identifying how to help your employees transition to a new system.

If you have any questions about how switching to an MIS can help modernize your printing operations, or if you’d like to learn more about Siteline or Batched, connect with our team.
